1.2 million women worldwide will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year.  This cancer affects women more than any other cancer, but it also affects men.  One in every 33 women will die as result of the disease and 2,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in men.  What is most concerning, is the number of Israeli women who are affected.  The BRCA1 & BRCA2 genes occur more frequently in Ashkenazi Jews.

The Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation raises funds to support the work of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

The hospital recently opened  the Comprehensive Breast Health Complex, an all-inclusive facility for identification, diagnosis and treatment  of growths and tumours in the breast. Shaare Zedek has introduced the concept of one-stop breast care for the benefit of our patients and distinguishes itself by implementing a truly comprehensive approach.

Shaare Zedek does not receive Israeli government funding for equipment, research or medical training and relies on the generous support of international donors to ensure that the hospital can continue to provide world class healthcare

Raising funds to support breast cancer care at Shaare Zedek will ensure that every woman in Jerusalem has access to world class diagnostics, treatment and research.
